Donald Trump wrote a $25,000 check to Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who was recently released after 214 days in prison from a Mexican prison.

“I really want this money to go to him, not his lawyers, “he said. Trump said he felt bad after watching Van Susteren’s interview with the Marine. He said Tahmooressi suffered a lot and he hopes that this money will help him get back on with his life.

Van Susteren and Trump also discussed President Barack Obama’s trip to China, which Trump blasted as “disgraceful.” He also weighed in on the midterm elections, saying that people are “tired of Obama, they’re tired of incompetence.”

Trump has helped out military service members before. Donald Trump helped a memorial scholarship for a US Soldier who looked up to Trump when he was a kid.
