Presidential candidate Donald Trump donated $100,000 to a Baptist church in Louisiana, where Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, serves as interim pastor. The Republican nominee and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, stopped at the Baptist Church in Greenwell Springs during a visit to Baton Rouge, La., on August 19, to survey damage and meet victims and relief workers a week after a storm flooded much of central Louisiana. Franklin Graham, president of the international Christian relief agency Samaritan ‘s Purse, was also present.
