The Celebrity Apprentice’s first season of Donald Trump helped many worthy causes. For his charity of choice named for his mother, the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Fund, Stephen Baldwin has won more than once.
The final two on Thursday night’s finale, however, were the tenacious Brit Piers Morgan versus the American cowboy Trace Adkins in their quest to become the first Celebrity Apprentice to win $250,000. In addition to his work as a tabloid editor, Morgan is recognized in the US as a judge on America’s Got Talent and is known in the UK for Britain’s Got Talent. The tough as nails competitor won nine out of 11 competitions and raised over $500,000 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, his designated charity.
Trump helped Morgan add a total of $250,000 to his total, as he was dubbed the winner of the Celebrity Apprentice. Critics say he was playing dirty. Morgan says he played the game in order to win money for his cause. Morgan beat 12 other celebrities to win money for their chosen charity. Finally, Adkins raised funds for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network for two opponents.
His motivation to win was driven by severe food allergies from his six-year-old daughter. The country singer performed a song that can be downloaded at the cost of contributing funds to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network from the NBC website.
