On Thursday 16 December, a lucky contestant on the NBC-TV phenomenon “The Apprentice” will be given a one in a lifetime opportunity when Donald Trump utters the words we’ve all been waiting for: “You’re hired!” Fans of the hit series may not be able to work for Mr. Trump, but there’s still a way to get close to the boardroom. “The Apprentice” partnered with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation to list the show’s props and memorabilia in a charitable auction, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation for Pediatric AIDS.

“Both Donald Trump and I strongly believe that investing in charitable causes is just good business,” said Mark Burnett, executive producer of “The Apprentice,” and board member of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. “We are so pleased to offer memorabilia from the show to raise funds for such a worthy cause. Each time an apprentice bids and memorabilia, they ensure a healthier future for children around the world. To date, the partnership has raised more than $200,000 for the Foundation.”

Tension, back-stabbing, big business tie-ins and celebrities have made “The Apprentice” one of the most talked-about shows on television. This season, 18 competitors used their business skills, intelligence and street intelligence to compete for the grand prize-a $250,000 year job as president of one of Donald Trump’s companies. “Apprentice” fans, here’s your opportunity to get a step closer to the winner of the grand prize-and show your negotiating skills for a great cause. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will benefit from all proceeds.
