Trump Donates $5K to Congressional Baseball Game Charities

President Trump has donated $5,000 to the organization running the Congressional Baseball Game as part of a $50,000 pursue made after the GOP baseball practice was shot last month. The group confirmed Thursday’s Yahoo News that the president planned to donate to the charities including Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, and Washington Literacy.

The announcement comes a day after House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La) was admitted to intensive care last month. Scalise was one of those shot when a gunman opened fire in the Republican baseball practice in Virginia last month. The gunman, identified as James Hodkinson, was shot and killed by the police.

Trump delivered a video address at the annual baseball game only one day after the shoot. ” Tonight’s game has a much deeper meaning, beyond anything we thought about, “said the president. ” You’ll show the world by playing tonight that we won’t be intimidated by threats, acts of violence or assaults on our democracy, “he said.
